  2. Spyware / Adware

    Adaware Free Spyware Remover

  3. Removing Specific Worms / Trojans

The best solution is to make sure your virus definitions are up to date. If they are but the worm cannot be removed search google for the specific worm name listed in your anti-virus software - a list of specific tools to remove these worms are often available.

Alternatively check sites like bit defender for specific infection removers.

2. Pop-Up Blocker / The Best Browser in the world

  1. The Death of Pesky Pop-ups.

Forget special downloads and extra programs to block pop-ups... Have them blocked by your browser... Forget 20 browser windows... Open 20 sites in one window with tabbed browsing... Forget the hassle of moving you I.E. favourites.. have it done automatically.

Download Mozilla Firebird - the best browser you will ever use.

3. Protect Your Computer on Start-up

  1. Start-up protection

Many malicious or invasive programs can add themselves to your start-up causing your comp to run slower or your browser homepage to change (at best). At worst they can be malicious multi-mailers or simillar. Download and install Win Patrol below to monitor all applications that try and add themselves to your start-up

3. Firewalls / Adapters

  1. Firewall

Downlaod and install the free version of Zonealarm below to protect yourself from attack. This is especially important if you spend any lenght of time online or have a cable / ADSL connection. A firewall like zonealarm will hide your computer's ports from anyone wishing to gain access to your comp without you knowing. Kinda useful huh?

  2. Adapters and Routers

An adapter is another barrier you can put between you and the rest of the net. A home network adapter that's used to network PCs and connect them to the net is another useful protection. If you use one of these the best protction is to set it to only allow certain MACK addresses to communicate with it (a MACK address is a unique identifying code on every piece of equipment - your PC will have one on the case).
